The current Emir of Qatar is Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who has been in power since 2013. Born on June 3, 1980, in Doha, he is the second son of the previous Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and his second wife, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. Before becoming Emir, he was groomed for leadership and held several significant roles, including deputy commander-in-chief of Qatar's armed forces and chairman of various sporting and cultural initiatives​

Summer: The summer months, from June to September, are particularly  intense. Daytime temperatures can soar above 40°C (104°F), often reaching 45°C (113°F) or higher, with the hottest months being July and August. Winter: The winter months, from December to February, are much milder and more pleasant. Temperatures typically range from 14°C (57°F) at night to 23°C (73°F) during the day, making it the most comfortable time of year to visit. The skies are clear, and rainfall, though sparse, occurs mostly during the winter months. However, the amount of precipitation is minimal, with Qatar receiving an average of just 75 mm of rain annually​
